Just read this in my local paper:

The Great British Bake Off stars Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood are said to be receiving £100,000 pay rises.

The boost will see their salaries increase to £600,000 in 2017, according to reports.

Is this really what our licence fee should be paying for - a baking show!!

Gotta make their dough somehow....
Blimey, Maggie....that's a heck of a lot of dough for twittering on about cakes.......x
It's very popular and the BBC will certainly gain revenue from all things GBBO associated.
Tip of the Iceberg,Maggie, wonder how much the Marigold Hotel show on BBC2 is costing, probably make your eyes water. Nice little holiday at Licence Payers expense.
do people really want to watch only shows that cost 38p to make?
Just because of the big turnover, jack?
Sounds flaky to me.
Do we know that this is true?
And here.......///Meanwhile, their expected pay rises come amid increased profits for Love Productions, the firm behind Bake Off.///
Cobblers
So, the BBC pays Love Productions for the programme and Love Productions decide what to pay the presenters out of this income and other profits generated due to the popularity of the show.
I've never watched GBBO as I am fed up with cookery programmes, but this seems a lot of moolah for these two presenters just to show us how to make fancy pastries!!
Well she is teaching the huddled masses how to make 'Beef Wellington' and to prepare 'Lobster Tails'.......priceless.
Should they only demonstrate how to cook a steak pie or fish-fingers?
Wow ! That really takes the biscuit.

Now you see how unreasonably inequitable present society is as celebs get rich beyond their wildest dreams while most slog all their life to keep their head above water and save an emergency find or old age pot. The entertainment industry is particularly bad at overpaying their stars. Probably get repeat fees and royalties for evermore too.
Islington set menu for the chattering, socialist dinner party. No savage cuts to be countenanced.
Quite a pay rise that !
But it's peanuts compared to this guy's pay rise.

Sharon - she doesn't even do that on this one, she only judges. What a job! I'd love a job tasting cakes and would take half that salary! LOL!
I guess it is a lot of money, but I love the programme so I'm not that fussed !
