Too many numbers to pick from. Odds of winning jackpot something like one in 45,000,000
Also think less people do it at Christmas as they are too busy doing other things so they bump the Jackpot up to entice more people to do it.
The lottery people LIKE the rollovers because the winnings get bigger and bigger.

Recently the up the numbers from 49 to 59 meaning even more rollovers.

Which is why people should stop doing it.

It should be geared at making lots of people win 1 million than a single person win 50 million or whatever which is just awful.
It does amaze me how people are more inclined to do the lotto when it's huge, as if the usual 4 or 5 million is not enough for them to be bothered.
The fact that they've rejigged it, more balls, more draws, and more for a ticket, is a sure sign people are losing interest.
I'd rather see a lot of players winning smaller prizes rather than one winning the gigantic jackpots.
Apart from my syndicate entry I stopped doing the lottery when it went to £2. I switched to Thunderball.

After the change to 59 numbers my syndicate has only had 3 free tickets!
