There was a discussion on here recentIy about stupid answers on quiz shows - weII I think the girI on Tipping Point Iast night takes the biscuit! Question was who organised the first package tour in 1841 - she said British Airways!

I thought it was the goverment and a bit earlier than 1841. Around 1788 I believe.

I'm convinced that half of these phone-in bad answers are deliberate, just people trying (and succeeding) to be rather funny...

My favourite recent wrong answer- on Pointless, when shown pictures of 'British Winter Olympic medallists' , a picture of John Curry was identified as 'Bert Kwouk'. The contestants looked genuinely shocked that they had answered incorrectly.
