I've just received a letter from the above. I'm guessing it's legitimate and have looked on-line etc.
They are asking me to take part in their survey and even given me a £10 voucher that I can cash at the PO.
I don't mind taking part and just want anybody's views about it.

Sorry if this in the wrong topic.

Just go for it (if you feel like it). So long as they do not ask any questions which you are not prepared to answer. Usually their surveys just gather numbers rather than personal data so it should be OK.
If you are sure that it is from the ONS I see no reason for you not to complete it unless you are uncomfortable with the questions.

Listen, guys. I'm whiter than white, me. Lol. Thanks. I think I'll go for it.

I've always thought, why don't I ever get asked questions for these things? Now is my chance.
According to the Office of National Statistics 43% of people put their unsolicited mail straight in the bin.

It was the "On Her Majesty's Service" printed on the envelope that stirred my interest, ludwig.
If it's like the one I've done, someone will come to your house to ask you a lot of questions and enter your responses onto his/her laptop. It's a bit tedious but not at all unpleasant, so I'd suggest doing it.

(However you've reminded me, just too late, that I meant to take part in a legitimate online survey last week that offered me a £25 Amazon voucher for doing so. Blast!)

Oh what a shame, Chris.
Chissa...I used to work for the ONS, and now do similar work for other companies. Bear in mind ...this is social research, not market research.

I am very interested in which survey they invited you to take part in...what is the survey called ?

It sounds like the Family Resources Survey, which they share with my employer, and includes a £10 voucher this year. If it is, it should only take about 45 mins, less if you live alone.
Question Author
It, is a Family Resources Survey, Mikey. I've rung them and left a message to arrange an appointment. I haven't heard back from them, yet.
Thank you crissa ..... I thought it was ! You are lucky this year though.... last year the incentive was only a book of 6 first class stamps !
I've done 2 of them, and like Mikey, got a book of first class stamps for each.
//it should only take about 45 mins, less if you live alone.//

That's because if you live alone you don't get constantly interrupted while you're trying to fill in the form.
