Yes Pasta - and a quick flip over to ITV+1 and now watching Mr Selfridge - Sunday evening heaven!!!!

Never heard of Aiden Turner before - has he been in anything else?
So far...brilliant, especially Aidan Turner.

In the books, Demelza is a fascinating character, developing from a destitute child into a lady. This is described over three years or so, I expect this TV version will have to condense that.

The whole saga takes in Demelza's brothers, the local physician, the neighbouring heiress, the local tin miners, then Ross and Demelza's children, right up to the Battle of Waterloo.

If you have not read the books.....please,do, you have a treat in store.
Wanted: A pet Poldark (New Edition, Please!!!) I only want him for a while... and will try not to break him!!! Woof Woof x

I was preparing myself to rubbish this series as I didn't think anything could match up to the original series which I watched at the time, with the brilliant Robin Ellis as Poldark. After only one episode I can see I was wrong ....now looking forward to the rest, I expect there will be many more series as there are lots of books.
For some reason I can't remember I didn't watch the original series, so have nothing to measure it by. I really enjoyed it, but not sure why Poldark feels so protective to Demelza. I found that a bit strange.
Yes, it is good.
Ann, Aiden Turner was the vampire in Being Human. He also played Dante Gabriel Rossetti in The Pre Rapaelites. He is a dwarf in the Hobbitt films as well.
Question Author
Thanks Carole - I've never seen any of those but guessed people knew him as they said in previews that he was a good choice of actor
I enjoyed it, anybody know where the market day scene was filmed, or was it a set?
Just posted on the other link. Yep, WOW is the word. Have admired Aidan Turner as an actor ever since I saw him in The New Romantics - perfect casting.
Question Author
Not to mention his very kissable lips eh? .......... ;)
I enjoyed it as well, and its not the normal sort of stuff that I do like. I recognised many of the locations although the market scene may have been a set. I have no memory of the old series, so I am coming to this fresh.

I go on hols to Cornwall as often as I can and I am always being recommended to read the books......maybe I will now !
