Cam anyone remember this old Marmite advert from 2013 ? I have just found it by accident and it made me laugh all over again !

I didn't know it had been banned. I know there were complaints about it though. It's been shown again this week, quite a few times.

I rarely watch ITV Janbee, so I wasn't aware that it was being played again. My favourite bit is where the young chap is being comforted by the other man and he says " I've never seen one that small before"

The Telegraph website claims that the Advertising Standards Authority received 250 complaints about the ad but, oddly, the ASA website's search facility finds no reference to it. I wonder if it was really banned or if the manufacturer just withdrew it?

It's usually Marmite itself that gets banned (rather than their ads). It's illegal to sell it in Denmark, Canada and several other countries.

Marmite is not banned in Canada - its a slightly different formulation. A shipment of Marmite from the UK was stopped at Canadaian customs because it contained meat products -meat products for the UK are not allowed into Canada. Beats me because I always thought marmite was vegetarian.
