Don't think much of the storylines in this series. But then its never been anywhere near as good as in Series 1. Agree?

Agree with a capital A. Dull, dreary and a sickly sweet; but worse of all, predictable.
Has George Alexander Louis made a guest appearance yet?
I stopped watching after the first series ... I'm not even sure I got all the way through that. If this had come from an unknown writer, it would never have had a hope of being screened.
Mrs factor loves it.

I listen out for bits of the script that sound wrong for that era.

I'm just wondering about the "smells like a tart's boudoir" comment
the yanks love it and have paid up front to get it produced i think, tut, yet they couldn;t fund more than one series of firefly.
Season Four, predicition: Christmas episode. "What a loving family. Too bad it’s going to be DESTROYED."

"Yeah, already, this seems like a good post to end things on until next season."

Another dubious quote for that period: "in case Mrs Patmore blows a gasket"

Some of the leading actors are so wooden: Bonneville, Dockery, Carter, and especially Leech. They're dismal.
Complete tosh. Daft, unbelievable script.....The Dowager Duchess going to the station, with a lower class servant, to see off an even lower-class character from the Work House.....Carson the Butler having a music hall past, despite there being no mention of it before, the continuing management of a huge country house with about 9 servants...the list is endless.

The Yanks are lapping it up, thus further entrenching their anachronistic view of Ye Olde England, and the acting is quite good, although Carsons pomposity is beginning to grate.

But it has Maggie Smith, so it does have at least one saving grace.
Not seen last night's yet, but I have to agree Season 1 was best.

They are now in 1922 so my preditcion is that Edith and her beau move to Germany and get caught up in the pre-war Hitler stuff.

Mary and the ex chauffuer (sorry can't remember his name) will get together.

But after WWII the big houses virtually died out so where will they go next?

Can't see a season 5 happening.
this series so far really poor, the relationships between the staff and gentry is quite unbelievable IMO.
mikey, to be fair, there had been previous mention of Carson's music hall past in an earlier series when his old mucker first appeared.

who ? :)
What is annoying me is that the footman (with aspirations), Barrow I think he is called, has yet to get his comeuppance. He caused all sorts of trouble in previous episodes and yet he's at it again. That is what is making me wonder whether to continue watching.
I want to smack Barrow.
Mary does not get together with the chauffeur.
I started to watch it for first time as friend raves about - omg - had to switch over.
