We have acquired a new kitten, he's black and white and is about 15 weeks old by now and he's been with us for almost a whole month! He's settled in well, apart from the fact the Molly hates him but then she hates everybody!
Break out the bubbly and celebrate your 8 year membership! (and just remember growing old I'm afraid is compulsory, growing up is optional - take your pick! For myself I've gone for the latter)

'Old age' creeps up on us quickly, doesn't it Dot?
Emmie:
I'd like to blame the staff at the launderette I use for losing my socks but (because they're about a billion times tidier and better-organised than me) I suspect that the socks might well have gone missing before I even walked through their door!

>>>where does time go!
I don't know but the pub landlord always seems to be asking us to find it for him. He's forever calling out 'Time, gentlemen please!'
;-)
Thank you Baby_Sham and (baby) Sam, as well as Excel.

No bubbly but I'll indulge in a glass of plonk very shortly! It would be lovely to see a picture of your new feline friend. My moggies have almost deserted me during the summer. Shakatu has only popped in twice during the past few months but I think that she'll be back on my bed as soon as it turns cold. LBC comes in for food and a quick look around most days but his visits are very brief. There has also been a very timid black cat coming in for food recently. (That makes three of them; it can be very difficult to tell them apart if I only get a fleeting glimpse!). Lastly there's Tabs, who is a lovely little tabby who has been sneaking in for food (and often consuming a whole tin in one go) quite a lot lately. He/she used to be really timid but he/she's now starting to trust me.

reaches for trusty copy of Bedsitter Cookery...
sooo, for this evening's scratch celebration supper, we're having
grilled grapefruit with sherry/bottom of lemon jenever bottle
barbequed luncheon meat (I'm not faffing about with hot tinned salmon at this sort of notice)
and Floating Islands - the sell by date of May on UHT custard is just nonsense
there, enjoy - and when you're nine can you remember to bring a tin of tomato soup, an onion and some sprinkles??
xx

Takes time for a kitty to build trust, it took until last week before Teddy would stay by me (I think the fact that I had to save him from Molly helped)
Now he seems quite happy to lay on the sofa beside me most days. I haven't any pictures of him myself but Queenofmean has and she will try and post something later.
