Why on Strictly do they call Louis 'Lewis' not 'Lou-ee' (a-la France).. just a ponder..

Different people pronounce it different ways - Louis should be Louee, Lewis is Lewis, IMO

Maybe they asked him how he wanted his name pronounced
Because that's the way his mother calls him?

Or maybe he thinks 'Looeeee' is a bit effete?

Why do you say 'may of' instead of 'may have'? Just asking.
I know i sound like Mark here, but it's may have, not may of.

Apologies B00.. re the slip up in wordage..
Perhaps the question should be "Why spell the Louis, if it's pronounced Lewis?"
and the answer would be why not?
