Enjoyed this programme as I did in the previous series, a real emotional weepie! but I often wonder if they find any parents/children who do NOT wish to meet up. Or any families who at the last minute back out of the actual reunion as they are too scared or embarrassed to meet on TV .......

I lost two brothers 12 years ago and never wish to find them again. Sure they feel the same about me!

Aww that's really sad Maggie, I come from a close family and there is only my bruv and me - I can't imagine life without him.
Whilst you can't be sure I guess we will never know as the program will not show these to us if that happened.
sure there are families like that!........too much water under the bridge to ever be reunited!...........very sad though!.......

Its the same with the birth programme "one born every minute" - they would never show a birth which went wrong and the parents sadly lost their baby.
i didnt really want to watch this programme again but somthing draws you to it now where are those hankies?
I wanted to watch this program but fell asleep and missed it. But I have just watched it on ITV iplayer and how lovely that these two people have been able to at last meet their birth mothers. I must confess that it has bought tears to my eyes. I look forward to next weeks program.
It Was a lovely programme and I watched with tears in my eyes but for two reasons.
Firstly because it was so moving to see the joy in their faces but also because my late husband was adopted and after a lot of work we found his birth mother. She had been forced to give him up as a baby because her parents didn't approve, (this was in 1950). She came to visit us twice when we were living in Northern Ireland and my husband was so happy to have found her.

Sadly after we moved back home to Northumberland, all contact was lost. Telephone calls, faxes and letters were ignored and we never heard from her again. He had two natural sisters.

When my husband died last February I managed to regain contact with his sister and she told me that his parents had moved to Spain. I asked if I could write to them or email them but his sister told me that his father controlled all his mother's emails and post and she wouldn't be allowed to read anything.

We knew that she was under this man's thumb and had been all her life but we couldn't work out why he didn't want his own son back in his life.

So, as was said at the start of the programme, my husband lost his mother twice, which could have been one of the things that caused his drink problems.

It makes me very sad for him.
What channel was this on please? Might like to watch it on catch up later.

It was on ITV1 at 9pm last night Evian.
Mumsie_wumsie has said she watched it on Iplayer :-)
Thanks Chrissa.
get some tissues Evian

Gosh, I watched this last night and was crying through most of it
The man who felt unloved to find his mother had actually tried to get him back ... can only imagine how that made him feel
I cried so much watching this programme that my eyes are still sore today ! The Mum who had to give away her baby girl was lovely, so genuine and as for that man who couldn't wait to find his Mum - well ..... O my God, I'm off again.
Years ago I watched a similar programme, a lady wanted to find her mother, they were reunited but because her mother was very poor and had nothing, the daughter never kept in touch or saw her ever again.
