Did anyone watch this last night?

I watched it open mouthed, incredulous from beginning to end. Please tell me these kind of people (the parents I mean) are not becoming the norm for our future generations?

That was very difficult to watch, so tragic for all concerned!!
If ever hc...
Yes, ummmmm. :(
Have read through this thread and am disgusted at how many times I read the phrase 'these people'. They are just people who were obviously born in different circumatnces than yourselves. I think it is really sad that it seems only now after too many unnecessary tragedies are child services getting their act together. Where were they when the parents of the couple in the film were being brought up? That is not meant to insult child services, but some are seemingly incompetent.
How should they be referred to?
yes smart, how or what should we call them?

Them persons? That ilk? Those recycled parenting types?
It's just a reference point, nothing more
Not as a different species ummmm
We all know is meant by 'these people'

They could have been called the drunken alcoholics who sit in their own vomit!! Or the alcoholics who take overdoses when 6 months pregnant!! The alcoholics that have has 7 kids taken off them!!

'These people' was quite kind!!
It's the way the term 'these people' was used in the threads- as if they aren't human. Smacked of intolerance to me.
These type of people keep having children when they are not mentally, emotionally, physically, able to look after them.
There seems to have been a massive decline in morals over the past 30-40yrs. An example of that would be the complete disappearance of 'courtship'. People meet and within a very short space of time, they move in together, then split up almost as quickly because they discover they're strangers.
Sorry, don't agree.

The couple in the OP have been together/known each other 13 years!
How selfless was the foster carer? She took the mum (and her baby) into her home only to be let down. It amazes me and reasssures me that there are still such giving people like her in this grim world we live in!
I was talking generally ummm - not specifically about that couple.
I still disagree. I also don't think it's a grim world. Most people are nice and kind.
You don't agree there's been a moral decline? Have you never watched Jeremy Kyles' show?
"It's the way the term 'these people' was used in the threads- as if they aren't human. Smacked of intolerance to me."

These people are a type, just like other minority groups are a type, what ever you call them will offend someone some where.
Like I said, it was a point of reference, nothing more

I've now watched the 2nd episode
This one showed the foster carer trying her hardest. I believe Marva is easily influenced and easily led astray. I have to say, unless it was shown off camera, she did not look to concerned to be losing her 4th child
I also feel the 2nd show showed just how human SS workers are
Smart - JK didn't invent these people. They've always existed. We just didn't have TV shows for them to appear on.
I agree ummm, JK just bought them to the countries attention
Ummm - I didn't say JK invented them! FGS who 'invents' people! I cited JK's show because the majority of people on there, when asked how long they'd known each other before they moved in together say something like '4 wks' as if that's a long time! Please take the time to read what I actually put before responding.
