thought that must have melted quickly, by the time you open the link it had all disappeared....

lol em - thought the link would go to the picture I had open at the time!!
fabulous pictures, there are some really lovely ones of the capital as well.
Looks beautiful, then I always think it does as long as it's not on my doorstep.
Love it!
biggest problem here is that when it does snow, looks great, for about 10 seconds, then it rains usually, turns to deadly ice, which i absolutely hate.
Can't tell you many times i have been hurt just getting out the front gate.
em10 treat yourself to some spikes. Wonderful. No more slippin and slidin for me!
I'm jealous I love snow
tenrec, i keep meaning to, can you suggest some good ones?
em10 - Khatoola (may have spelt that wrong) are the best but there are loads you can google. Less than £20. It has given me so much confidence, I even go out in the hills.
microspikes (the Kahtoola ones)
tenrec, thank you, we have lots of sports shops like Blacks so will have a look.
Blacks should have something to suit you. Good luck.
some on here a bit expensive, which ones would be best

em10 - the second ones, (Como) would be fine for the streets, also Mountain King Snow Gripper.
The microspikes are great on streets, but also good in the mountains. The others on that page are for more serious mountain walking. Can't believe how they have gone up in price.
tenrec, thought they seemed a bit pricey. I did see some in one of the big name sports stores but wasn't really sure if they worked. And don't have money to spare, but if it stops the falls, then perhaps its something to invest in. I never liked the icy conditions, even when i went skiing years ago.
Have a look on ebay. There may be some cheaper ones there.

I like the Skye photo, I've stood in Elgol and looked at that view - we also took the boat across and walked into the hills to Loch Coruisk:

Just a thought em10 - what about socks over your shoes. I read somewhere that it works.
