Problem is, it's very popular so loads of companies want to advertise during it's showing. That's how ITV is paid for.
Oops 'its' not 'it's'.
Only issue is Port Isaac is now wrecked by the invasion of tourists.

Martin Clunes has a house there, so he "suffers." Yeah...
Surely "it's" is correct as it's a contraction of it is.
its is correct.

And bobbie22, get Sky+ or Virgin Tivo. I can't watch popular ITV programs without it now!

Does that mean no ads ellipsis.? Theres another set of ads on now
Hi Bobbie - you can just zap all the ads, I record everything I watch and can just zap the adverts.
Question Author
I have been thinking of doing something like that. Does it cost more? I do hav sky
A) you don't need sky or virgin to do that, and B) really helpful when you are watching a live transmission......
It used to cost £10 a month to have the record facility but it is free now - think you might have to get a different box/satellite dish to be able to record (I can record two channels and watch something that is taped). Pretty sure it is a Sky+ dish/box that you need (our old one died so we had to get a new one anyway).
Problem is, if nobody watches the ads, then nobody will advertise. And bang goes ITV.

Oh dear, would not like to be responsible for that
We bought a Humax Personal Video Recorder PVR-9300T direct from the company at a very reasonable price.it will record a programme you really enjoy and play it back zipping through adverts at 16 times the speed.. It stores on a hard disc so no more to pay. The quality of the picture is very good.

I'm confused now. Do I need to buy a sky digibox? Iam told they cost about £105 Thats the cost of the box and installation. However, someone told me they would get me a box. I dont know what to do for the best.
Sorry Bobbie, not sure about all the details - all I know is that we have one and it works. There are things available too, but don't much about them either. Really sorry for being such a dim wit about it all (we've got a new tv that does stuff, but have no idea what).

Thanks for all the answers. Sometimes there's a SKY van down town on saturdays, so I will speak to the guy there. At some stage, it was free if you joined SKY, but for someone already with them there was a charge. I keep hoping things will change. It does not help that I am as thick as two short planks either!
Simple way to zap adds is to record programmes on ITV+1 and skip through the adverts yourself, takes a few seconds.
I always record ITV programmes on my freeview box, like Doc Martin and Downton Abbey, and watch them another time when I can fast forward and skip the annoying adverts. I know they have to be there but I don't have to watch them.
