I have stopped watching corrie because the story lines and characters are so unbelievable now. it used to be my favourite soap but not anymore. there are no decent characters and too many unrealistic scenarios.
i wish a channel would re run the old corrie that was great!

They are trying to compete with Eastenders in the misery despair, screaming and shouting department. That's what they think viewers want and they are probably right going by the number who watch eastenders. I think it's one of the most gloomy depressing programs on tv.
Oh Yogasun I always wonder how Mary and Norris haven't been told to fcuk off and mind their own business yet haha.
I prefered Blanche, yeah she was nosey but I loved her cutting and witty remarks. I loved the scene where Blanche, Ken and Deirdre accompanied Peter to his AA meeting. That was brilliant. So so funny
Yes, I agree supersuezy, Blanche was just ace.
I think another thing that to me is so annoying are the dark sets as though all terraced houses don't have natural light. Makes it difficult to see the scene though I know they (wrongly IMO) do it for "atmosphere". If only they could create it through acting, we could do without the atmospheric lighting lol.
I'm happy to say that I'm soap clean these days, used to be a total addict but these days I couldn't name a single character in any of them. :-).
i know blanche is no more, but even dead, she's got more life than some of the cast. I loathe gail platt, or whatever her name is this week, she always look like a frog, and that hair, for heavens sake someone give her a brush and comb. Norris would have been buried in underworld if i had my way, as to mary, blimey, words fail, well not quite yet....
Here are the threads chelle mentioned - I hadn't seen them before

Thanks for those JMR27, I hadn't seen them first time around.
All he's done is go over the storylines but it doesn't mean they're good stories does it? I hear more and more Corrie fans complain about it now than I've ever done in the past. We'll just have to keep on sending the letters. :o)

yeh thanks for that i hadnt seen them either but as for enjoying in future i dont want to watch it now or in future! so kieran me thinks u need to get some decent believable storylines before id even consider it!!
im not a soap fan but regard corrie as far superior to eastenders.Michelle collins one of the best things to come out of soaps
and now leannes mum has turned up
I haven't watched it since the days of Ena Sharples...and that was only because my mum had it on
I've had enough of Corrie with its daft storylines. I used to enjoy the wit and banter between Steve and Eileen in the taxi office, what happened there?. Im sick of Beckys gob,her sister in fact all of them. china.
They Roy, Hayley and Roys Mum bit last night was excellent. All excellent actors. Really good believable Corrie.

And the we get.................................. Sunita's Aunties............ and it all falls apart!!

I still like 50% of Corrie and continue to watch and blot out the other dreadful 50%.
Agreed Lottie, those aunts are unbearable!
I agree, Corra has taken a turn for the worse lately.

I actually loved the John Stape storyline up to a point but the latest phase of it has just been barmy (although I loved the way Stape was still believing that everything could still end up normal all the way through).

There are far too many uninteresting storylines now, Dev and Sunita, for example (and their aunties, well, I agree with all the comments posted here, they are just terrible.)

Graham and Xin was a terrible storyline and she was a terrible actress.

I'm sick of the Sean storyline already, ditto the Sophie/Charity story.

I only watch it now hoping that it will return to what it once was, good storylines mixed with humour, but I have very little hope of this happening.
Should be awarning before it ." Some well most of the viewers may find the acting and voices in the next programm disturbing "
Thanks JMR27 for posting the links - I couldn't find them.

lol weecalf, true!

Lottie - agreed the scenes with Roy's family were very good, i do like Stephanie Cole. Shame about the rest of it these days.
Question Author
