Does anyone know how far in advance they film the episodes for a soap such as eastenders

I remember reading once that Eastenders were 6 weeks ahead in filming .I don't know if that still stands.

yeah I also heard that they were about 2month ahead with the filming.
Coronation Street is 5 weeks.

More specifically, in EastEnders, the outside bits are c. 8 weeks and the indoor bits are c. 6 weeks.  They do the outdoor bits c. 2 weeks before the indoor bits in order to get the continuity right concerning the weather.  The Bill is c. 3 and a half months.  I believe that the Bill and EastEnders both have about 2 weeks' worth of episodes all being filmed simultaneously.
