I LIVE IN THE MIDDLE OF A REGENERATION PROJECT WHERE HOUSES ARE BEING KNOCKED DOWN AND REBUILT. WORK HAS BEEN STOPPED DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS UNTIL ? WHEN. I NEED TO MOVE AO EXTEND MY HOME WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR BUT SURVEYERS AND MORTGAGE COMPANIES HAVE SAID MY HOUSE IS WORTH £0 UNTIL WORK IS COMPLETE. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO CLAIM COMPENSATION OFF THEM. IT IS CAUSING A HUGE DISRUPTION TO MY LIFE AND LOOKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO DO SO FOR ANOTHER FEW YEARS.
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Caps lock off...!!

Compensation for what exactly? The work could make your house go up in value.
Have you tried writing to the developers and or builders? If you could extract some dates from them this might give you a starting point to discuss the situation with building societies and surveyors.
Hi- how long have you lived there? If you moved in within the last couple of yours then the solicitor's searches should have mentioned this project

Ive lived here for 8 years and nothing was mentioned till about 6 months before they commenced work. I have tried contacting various people who pass me from piller to post between council and developer, and yes I know it should increase the value of my home but completion was already not supposed to be until 2013 and now they have put a stop to work god knows when it will be so this doesn't really help my situation.
Many of these schemes are being bank-rolled by Regional Development Agencies, Count. With the recent announcement of the demise of RDAs, several schemes are being moth-balled. Not being funded by the private sector.
Cheers buildersmate.
