someone i know has been charged with assauly for beating there 9 year old son who has been stealing food he smacked him 4 times which has left with bruising to the back, he is at the magistrates court in 2 weeks time where he will plead guilty. he has been bailed to his parents house and has been told he cant see or speak to his children which nis breaking the family apart and the children are distraught does anyone know what the most likley outcome would be

That was some smack to leave bruising, a smack usually leaves nothing more than a red mark and are rarely given on the back - your 'friend' or the 'person you know' is not being truthful IMO
Why did the child steal food anyway? Much more to this than meets the OP
i feel the same as above i have three children and yes i have chastised them not often though but a smack on the hand is usually enough and never to leave a bruise let alone the back and that would be hard to bruise. The child protection rules are for just that to protect a child and why was he pinching food
