Had to share this.

Whilst in the 'Ladies' in Morrisons a member of Morrisons Staff came in, replaced the loo rolls, inspected the cubicles, and then went to the loo herself. She then went out onto the shop floor without washing her hands.

Should I have said something?

Yes! I would have spoken to a supervisor about it.

Yes, I feel guilty for not doing so.
That is one of the things that really irk me.

I just hope she didn't go onto the deli counter!! :o(
They usually wear gloves on the deli counter so hopefully all will be well............it doesn't bear thinking about otherwise...yuck!!!
Perhaps you could have said you'd seen 'a member of staff' & not named her? x
It's quite common now here in Spain to have to ask the bartender for a key to the ladies' loos, because men would go and use the ladies' if the gents' was occupied. There is a serious lack of WC etiquette in the modern world.
Lottie I'm surprised you didn't grab her wrists & march her back to the loos, haha
I usually have a travel size hand gel in my bag, I'd have tapped her on the shoulder & offered it to her!

You know me well Robinia, but I was with a friend and I didn't want to embarrass her!! I can be very embarrassing to be with!!!!
I used the loo in a well known coffee chain and they were not very clean. I asked to see the manager quietly and told him....his reply was that they weren't really for the use of customers ( eg he was doing me a favour ) and they were really meant for staff ! I pointed out that it was even more important that they were clean in that case !!
NoMercy.....generally speaking the toilets in Spain are immaculate and in UK they are filthy.

It's not the toilets, it is the people that use them.

Agreed Naomi!
Yes, Sqad - I agree with you entirely.
Question Author
I have to agree with Sqad that the loos in Spain (and Portugal) are generally much better than those in the UK. Although UK loos do seem to be improving. I haven't come across many filthy ones recently. Even in the tiniest Spanish cafe, etc. the loos are usually very, very clean.

We are very slow to complain and this end of the world and we agonise about it a lot. We could do with a little of the American way of thinking - (I said a little)
Lying in bed with one's loved one and discussing the interesting threads that on encounters on AB, the topic of loos came up relating ti yesterday's thread by our one and only LoftyLottie.

Mrs sqad said that she would have asked to speak to the manager and seek assurance that the culprit would be reprimanded.
Question Author
Mrs Sqad is dead right Sqad. I wish I had. If I had been alone I might have, but I was wish a very reserved friend and we were in a hurry. To be honest knowing me, if I had been alone I would have confronted the lady concerned!

Romantic bedtime conversations Sqad!!
That's all I can offer now Lofty.;-)
Why don't you email HQ, Lottie, suggesting they memo all branches and the branch managers could politely remind all staff.
