hello i got arrested 2 months ago and iam on bail till sept. I sold a ebay item of 200 pounds on ebay in dec 08, which was a playstation 3 , but lost contact with the buyer and he did the same for me as i moved 3 times within that time till now ,

I had the money but wasnt sure if he was picking it up or sending it to him, when the police came to my house it was still packaged in the box and has not been used since , as i thought i cant sell it as ive had the money and i might somehow get it to him , You never know. It was a bit of a misunderstanding , and i said to the police they could take it , as it was not mine anymore and perhaps give it to the buyer.

What is the likely outcome considering ive never been done for anything like this before. and that i had the item still.

Thanks

That's the second time I've heard the term 'misunderstanding' used this week. The other occasion involves a couple of British girls in Brazil and an insurance claim. Their Mum says it's all a 'misunderstanding'.
You didn't think to return his money during the 6 months?

How did you lose contact with him? Did you change your email address every time you moved? And he changed his email address too? What a coincidence.

Did you contact Ebay? What did they say?

I have to say, it doesn't sound like a 'misunderstanding'.

Because i had bid and won items i got suspended so couldnt access anything , and we didnt keep in contact via main emails just on ebay. and i couldnt even look at that untill i was unsuspended. he had my address to contact me through and home number , but because i moved he wouldnt of be able to come to get it. he paid it into mt bank so didnt get any contact details from that
How was payment made -via paypal?
Question Author
bank transfer i think cant really remember now.
Question Author
i think he placed it into my account by cash
Well if that's the case I don't have much sympathy for you or the naive purchaser.
How could he possibly pick it up if he didnt have your address because you had moved three times! The fact you had his money and the item is hardly a mitigating circumstance. To be honest if you had treated me like this poor ebayer I would be hoping you got into a lot of trouble! As twenty says, why didnt you return his money. I am sure ebay or paypal would have helped you to do that. Sorry jrw, story does not add up.
Agreed.
Do you think the police will be spying on you in here, jrw?

Is that why you're not telling the whole story - or indeed the truth?

Or are you trying to ease your conscience?
you've had 4 different addresses since last December?

i have a few questions, which will help to answer your question
1) do you intend to plead guilty or are you gong to stick to this story?
2) Have you yet made reparations?
you missed question 3

3) are you some kind of idiot?
Didn't you post this same story 4-6 months ago under a differerent user name?
Im sure Ive seen the same question before too, factor.
Redcrx- I have found the case which may be the one we were thinking of. It's very similar (shut out of ebay, lost record of addresses, couldn't send out items) but it involved concert tickets not a playstation.
