On the same lines as my previous question - my friend was married in the US. They are British. Does this affect divorce in this country in any way?

No. If they are domiciled and habitually resident in the UK they are eligible to divorce here.

after they married in the US did they register the marriage inthe UK on their return ? if not it may not be recognised in this country.

No - it wouldn't have occurred to them to register the marriage here. Does this mean they cannot be divorced in this country?
