I am in the middle of a divorce, I have received the decree nisi and the marital home is for sale, my solicitor will not apply for absolute until financial matters have been sorted however my mother has just been told that she has a terminal illness and only has a few months to live, when my mother dies I will inherit part of her property, if the divorce is not fully completed will my soon to be ex husband be entitled to any of it? (We have a 4 year old son)

You really need to ask your solicitor about this. If it looks as if it might become a problem it would be best for your mother to get some legal advice herself - it might be possible to alter her will to set up a trust in such a way that any problem for you could be side-stepped. (I do not have specialist knowledge of this, but it is an idea that may be worth looking into.)
Under Scots Law, no because it will be obtained after Date of Separation. Speak to your Solicitor.
