At the company where i work, i have gone on the internet for information purposes only. i went on google images n this happened to be several pictures, which my company classes as sexually explicit. this was all done in innocence. i have now been suspended from work with full pay. there were also 2 collegues that can vouch for why i did it. i am fearing the worse and think these 2 colleagues will deny knowing anything about it. i cannot have contact with staff i work with or enter the premises, but i feel i need to talk to these colleagues to put them in the picture.

will i get sacked?

help!!!! what do i do?

Be as honest as possible, and turn the tables - ask them why their filter doesn't block such images. Also, ask the HR manager to access their pc with the same search reference to show how easy it is.
what were you searching for btw?
and yes...you can be sacked for this if your employer doesnt have a sense of humour

When they were suspending you they should have said - and we may be sacking you as well....

co-employees remembering things differently also occurs with depressing regularity.
Did you sign a computer policy form when you started your employment, this would specify what you should and shouldnt be looking at and when of course.

Most firms nowadays have a fairly decent firewall which will stop these sort of things being looked at in the work place , even if you stumble across them in innocence, and some even keep records of how many sites like this you have tried to access in the past?

Depending on your previous work record, I would suggest you call a meeting with the company HR department to explain your actions as suggested by Peter & Whickerman, have they suspended you pending an enquiry? It may be that they are searching your PC for evidence of you looking at these sort of things before
