The company I work for refuse to pay sick pay unless you have been with them for a year. I have had just 2 days off in the past 10 months (separate days) and each time they deducted 70 (140) from my monthly wages. What constitues SSP? Are my company obliged to pay SSP - I know SSP isnt much but what are my entitlements as I think my company are pulling the wool somewhere as I have not received any SSP whatsoever.
TIA

Yes they are obliged to pay SSP but it doesn't kick in until after you have been off (I think) 3 days. For a single day as you have found out they can dock your wages and pay you nothing.
