Unlikely.

It depends what cover you have - some wouldn't give you anything at all; the best would replace it with a similar model - but might let you pay the extra for an improved model.
Little insurance job on your mind????

Phone the insurance company and tell them Your toddler has broken your TV....ask them are you covered....If you won't get the model you want....phone them back and say 'It's OK....my Dad has got a spare one'........make sure you don't break the one you've got until you have had it confirmed.................
You will get a similar television to the broken one, provided you are insured for accidental damage.

You will have to pay an excess.

Your insurance will cost a lot more next year.
Like in most insurance claims (if covered) they will replace like for like and depending on age/time according to wear and tear. We had an accidental mishap in the kitchen when we moved into a property 8 yrs ago, cupboard crashed off the wall, hit the microwave sitting on the worktop and dented it beyond repair. Insurance company offered price of new one (like for like), after taking off excess fee. We (well I) decided to upgrade the model, so had to pay the difference. The insurance companies are much tougher now, receipts have to be shown as well as written confirmation from the retailer that the product is beyond repair, and the cost to replace like for like.
