Bus Stop fine?

Was dropping my wife off at the train station this morning. Without think I stopped and dropped her off at one of those long bus top/lanes/ It wasnt your usual bus lane (red with the words "bus lane"), it was not coloured, quite long and said Bus Stop.
I stopped for a maximum of 7 or 8 seconds. When I drove off I thought "damn!" , I must have got a ticket.
Went back during this morning whern it was light and looked at the road signed. there was one exactly like this one

But instead of having times it said "at any time".
There is a CCTV camera which points just off where I had stopped. will I get a fine???
Now there is a sign like this further up the road which has the times "7am - 10", same sign as this and it is a proper red bus lane, and I know that you can drive in the lane after 10am.

I'd doubt it - they could see you entered it to drop off and then drove straight out again - it's not like you were queue jumping or driving down it for a mile. If you didn't hold anything up - I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's only when they are camera activated bus lanes that the ticket is usually automatic.

If the sign displayed was the one you posted, then you were in a Bus Lane and not at a bus stop. The fact that you stopped is irrelevant, you should not have been there at all. If you failed to notice you had entered a bus lane then you were driving without due care and attention. The fact that you re-visited the area and still did not understand what you had done is worrying. I suggest you purchase a copy of the Highway Code. It is only �1.99 and a lot cheaper than a fine.

Still think it comes under the rules of dropping off passengers and if you entered it dropped off and went straight back out - I'd argue that you didn't use the bus lane for anything else other than dropping off. We have one were we live and no gives a damn about it - it's not policed, camera covered and I'm sure if you just entered and dropped off no-one could give a monkeys about it !!
Not necessarily Gromit - local by-laws may allow you to set down and pick -up. A bit like double yellows - no parking but sometimes allow you to drop off/pick-up. What do you do Stop in the middle of the road to let your passenger out - no you find a safe place to let them out. If the bus lane is empty and it's not a red lane. I know taxis can :

I'm not saying that Spaced is right in using the lane in the way he did - there might be a better place to drop the wife off. (I'd personally use a cliff for my wife !) Spaced didn't use the Lane in the way that he drove along it instead of the proper carriageway. He pulled up from the main road, accross the bus lane, at the side of the road, dropped the wife off and drove back out. This is clearly allowed in Brent and Cambridge. Using a bus lane is driving along the lane instead of using another lane that is available and it is not an emergency.The original Question was - Do you think I'll get a ticket ?

you try stopping your vehicle safeyly outside wimblendon station, other than in a bus lane at 6.30 in the morning.
Based on society today, i'd rather do that that drive down the rd and drop her off.
oh well, if i get a fine for stopping for 7 seconds i'll just contest it. As a fleet manager I have much experience on blagging fines!

Do you or I know if it was a camera which takes your picture automatically if you enter or drive in a bus lane - no !! Or a camera as in a CCTV camera where people might just be looking at it for the 7 seconds that Spaced drove into it ?
