Can a house be sold without the consent or knowledge of a named person on the deeds of the property? Can rent be claimed without the knowledge or consent of this person?

Sold - extremely doubtful, unless the seller could prove he had been trying to contact you for a number of years without success.

Rent - yes.
Of course it can. But not lawfully.
I agree with Ethel as all those who who own the house will need to sign the contract.

Yes but who knows if the documents authorising the sale are forged? I've seen it happen
