wouldn't have thought so
Only child benefit.
Sorry, but no. I gave up work when we had our eldest child nearly 15 years ago and all I have received is child benefit. Personally I think it's disgusting the way that stay at home Mothers are treated. if I was receiving some sort of benefit I could have cheap leisure facilities etc. I was even expected to pay the full poll tax (when that was up and running) whereas if I had been on benefit I would have only paid 25 per cent.
When you say Family Credit do you mean working family tax credit. On your salary, all that she would be entitled to is the child tax credit and child benefit.
I also think it is disgusting! I am on Mat Leave at the moment and have been thinking about whether to stay at home and look after my 2 children, however I would get nothing apart from Child Ben and Family Tax Credit which is not a lot and would not even cover my half of the household bills. My husband does not earn that much, so I have no choice but to go back to work!
The family credit & child tax credits should go some way to cover your wifes expenses.

Whether I agree with it or not, you earn enough to support yourself & your wife in the governments eyes!

My husband earns quite a bit more than you, however after tax & other deductions he takes home less than your figure. With 4 children it gets very tight...the system does indeed stink ~ we are not poor enough to qualify for any help, but not wealthy enough to be comfortable!
why is it disgusting that the government pays you for your lifestyle choice of having children? Tax credits and family allowance are not to be sniffed at. if you cant afford children ...condoms are free at th family planning clinic.

I think its amazing people even get anything, but it makes my blood boil when i hear people calling it "disgusting"
I have to agree with you bednobs.

To be honest I wouldn't mind having to struggle, but I do feel a bit 'what about me' when in the end people who earn less than us get more money through benefits!
lol but what about me pippa? i probably earn less than a lot of people, and would like some benefits too please .... fancy a new tiara :-)
I might have one spare, bednobs (as long as you don't mind 2nd hand)...I have had to sell all my diamonds due to brokeness ;o)
