AH, that's an appalling generalisation. Most priests and nuns are raised with their families and the vast majority by far aren't child molesters.

Naomi - obviously most nuns and priests are raised by their families, and most perform their duties without being perverted by the unnatural lives they lead.

My point is, the combination of isolation and adoration makes abuse much easier to commit and conceal, especially when backed by an organisation that has a vested interest in pretending that it does not actually happen.

AH. That was my point, paedophiles are not converted to being paedophiles, via the stupidity of a celibate priestly lifestyle. They seek access to children.

The priesthood being one avenue, but as you say there are many others.

But the penalties are minimal as are the chances of being caught and even more so reported to law enforcement agencies are massively reduced as a result of the Catholic churches attitude to ‘being led astray and falling to temptation’
