Nailit,yep,I suppose its not abt the facts themselves but how the facts are presented by the Pros/Def barristers.

I had a split jury but the judge, after much faffing, said he would accept a majority verdict...think he was late for his lunch appointment!
I was looking at losing my liberty, my home, all my possessions, and possibly my life as I was suicidal at the time.
The judge was late for his dinner!!!

But you don't know that, nailit, you've just invented it. Sounds to me like he was just following standard procedure. Unless he leaned on the jury to convict, the problem was elsewhere.

Still, there are those that believe that the police never lie, the courts are just and justice is there to be served...

I was stating a fact about majority verdicts in England and Wales, you were stating opinions about the Judge and the jury.
