What a dignified and civilised response we see here from the sadly disappointed family of PC Blakelock, who was viciously hacked to death by a mob of savages, no mass protest, no taking to the streets, only sadly accepting the verdict of the jury.

Since Baroness Lawrence is a successful ardent anti-racism campaigner, perhaps she will help to see that justice is finally done in this 28 year old as yet unsolved crime?

I think the Blakelock family have gone through hell and back many times over the last 28 years and this statement from them is indeed dignified and civilised in the extreme. Their frustration must know no bounds, and all our sympathies should go out to them.
But I am not sure how Baroness Lawrence can help in assuring that the murderers are brought to justice, nor am I entirely clear what the point is of your post aog ?

Yes, Doreen Lawrence is indeed an exception, and I'm pleased that you've once again highlighted her importance, both as a campaigner against racism and as an example to those who fight against injustice.
I can't think of anyone else who has worked so tirelessly, especially when there are those 'certain persons', who (in my opinion) make a virtue out of complaining, but avoid actually 'doing'.

Are these 'certain persons' the ones who take to the streets slaughtering police or rioting and looting?

Quite the opposite. They were not complaining, they were doing. They were doing the wrong thing.
I have nothing but respect for those who work within these communities as volunteers, running training schemes, youth clubs, after-schools clubs and charities.
These people actually make a difference, much like Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon.

However, I'm almost certain that this won't sway you in whatever you may think of the admirable (in my opinion) Baroness.
But let's put it this way - if I had been murdered, or had my death covered up by the police, I would want the Baroness or Peter Carney fighting in my corner.
Like I've said before. It's difficult to actually get up and make a difference, but it's very easy indeed to snipe at those who do.
