Hi,

Ive been in trouble with the police twice in the last year for criminal damage under £5000 and both times received a fine with a combined total of £680 which i have only paid £10 off of.
I recently put somebody's windows through and was arrested then later released on conditional bail.
I was just wondering if anybody could give me any information on what to expect, is it likely that i'll get a short prison sentence or just another fine?
Im at court on the 30th at Magistrates and dont know what to expect

This is the law section.. not the judgemental section. if you can't give a proper answer then don't answer!
I would suggest a custodial sentence is unlikely unless the offence is Hate Crime motivated e.g. racially aggravated, which is then a possibility. If legally represented direct your question to them.
I would not rule out a custodial sentence this time, after all you have not learned your lesson and the fines have not been paid. A suspended sentence is possible with the condition that you will go to prison if you do not pay off the previous fine and stay out of trouble.
This is going to depend on the magistrate on the day , you need to be sure to tell the court that you are really sorry and this time if given another chance you are determined to stay out of trouble and repay the damage caused.
I would think a custodial sentence is quite likely, probation or community service maybe another option. As you have not paid previous fines, then another fine is unlikely.
In N.Ireland people like yourself get shot in both knee caps for behaving like that and worse if you commit the crime again. In other parts of the UK you are unlikey to get sent to prison and will recommit.
