Whether divorced, separated, widowed/widower or never lived with anybody!

What if anything do you miss living alone?

I have been divorced for many years and miss having a chat one to one about whats (news) going on in the UK and the world, rather than on here.

I miss a cuddle at night and in the morning in bed and also having a cup of tea given to me when I wake up.

I also miss having somebody to do the house cleaning which I hate, especially the hoovering and keeping the kitchen clean, such a tedious waste of time day after day.

Cooking is not a problem as I love it but, tidying and washing up afterwards is a bore.

Have you any thoughts of being single and alone?

Given your requirements I am not at all surprised that you live alone.
A bit uncalled for Mike.
I would never want to live with anybody now, I am too selfish.
Bit spikey tonight Mike?
So trt. in your mind women are just the waiters and cleaners in your life.
In my flat sometimes i thought i had to cough just to break the silence!!!

Definately a cuddle. Or just someone lying next to you i think xxx
I'm not quite over 50 yet (I'm 45), but I live on my own.

Cooking IS a problem because ...

1. I hate doing it.

2. I can't get motivated to cook just for myself.

3. Even when I do, I'm not terribly good at it.

So, for me, someone with whom to share the cooking is an issue.
Trt likes cooking, JJ
I am living with my mater as she now needs cover......I am just leaving Monday) for a just-over-two week break, my eldest sis covering, and by God, I need it - try somebody with the big A and you will understand, you question your own sanity.

I would love to live by myself again ( re cooking - as I can't eat the healthier diet I like, independence and all that, yes very selfish) but I could live with the right gf/partner if we clicked.....sharing commonalities in interests, wine and food, art (perhaps) chatting, "cuddle" etc etc.....and I would love to have a freer access for my gals....wit other threads.
There's a thought, hopkirk.
I'm not over 50 but I do live on my own and sadly single. I miss cuddles too. I love cooking but cooking for 1 is sometimes a bit pointless. :(
I'll come and cook, and I'll even tolerate your love of netball - but then you love all sports so that gives a good commonality. My least favourite, probably boxing.
"cooking for 1 is sometimes a bit pointless"

yep!

My kitchen draw is like the National Library of Take Away Menus
I cook for himself and the kids (I make them eat proper food) but I eat rubbish stuff. If I lived on my own I would probably live on cheese on toast and cereal (seems pointless spending hours cooking for one, I can hardly stand it cooking for everyone).
Aww, thanks DT.

"but then you love all sports"

I struggle a bit with cricket.
I enjoy cooking for one but two is definitely better, though less wine.

Though you can open a second bottle, vodka, JJ............
A visit to Lords and coaching a scorecard would hook you......plus the laws (not rules) are not that difficult....errhhmm....
So DT - you don't fancy cooking for me (and himself and the kids), can't pretend I'm not a bit offended!
oh sorry Sherrard, of course I would......
I went to Lords a couple of years ago to watch Sussex in some cup final of some sort, against maybe Hampshire? or someone like that. Bit hazy on those bits.

Sussex were poo, and got stuffed.

Didn't see much of the match, but got through a lot of bubbles.

I suppose it was quite jolly.

But whenever you looked out on the pitch, there was nothing happening.
