(i) Protestor in the water stops the race when OX leading
(ii) OX break an oar on restart in the 1st 100m - deemed OX fault and they have to row with seven, therefore loss to Cambridge
(iii) OX bow collapses and no one notices for 3 to 4 minutes....

Am watching DT. Dramatic stuff. Feel sorry for Oxford though. Cambridge were not the best. And what the hell was that guy doing in the water? The river was closed.

well no doubt the protest will come to the fore.....but bloddy idiot, he could have been killed, if not seriously injured and if not the blades, getting mangled in the umpire's boat and all those following.....

And a good race was on. Hope Alex Wood is ok though - looked nasty given the time he was out.

I saw the guy lying back in the boat but just thought he'd fallen back in despair.

Well it was reported he was laughing his head off in the police launch so at least one person thought it was funny to spoil the race for everyone concerned.

Certainly the most eventful boat race I've ever seen, actually the only eventful boat race I've ever seen, apart from when one of them sank some years ago.

Yes Remember meeting the Skipper (the Pres), of the Boat that sank, at Uni in Scotland - The grief that he had to take.....he needed broad shoulders and a massive bucket of humour!

Don't get me started, I love Oxford always have (cos when a child I liked the colour!! shallow or what) I am incandescent with rage, a total failing of judging. There should be 3 judges to vote in cases like this, by heck if I get my hands on that swimmer, well......................
