Broken Window

I heard a popping sound yesterday, but didn't know what it was. I later found out my window had cracks running all over it. There was a small portion on the bottom which actually broke off and left a small hole. There white spots (really small sort of like a white coating) all over the hole.
Is it vandalism or was it natural?
The area outside next to my window is where the gas pipes are, but when i checked there weren't any damages.

Do the cracks all radiate out from the hole? Has anything come through the window? Is there a hole in the wall opposite the window? Check around the room.

theres nothing. The holes are very small. All the cracks start from the center point. The only glass that actually fell of are the ones at the bottom. Nothing came into the house.
Can you describe the window in more detail? Is the window double-glazed? Were the white spots on the outside surface of the glass?
It could be that a bird flew into the window. They tend to leave a white powder on the outside of the window where dust etc has come off the bird. If the bird is only winded they may then fly away.

If you have double glazed windows they don't break and you can sometimes see a relly good outline of the bird with its wings outstretched.
