Hi there. new on here. just looking for some advice.

Basically my brother and his work colleague were attacked by 3 men last friday very badly. what had happened they had left work in the evening, female colleague was driving with him and his mate in the car.

She flashed at another car which didnt have there headlights on, and nearly crashed into them, it was around 9.30 ish. what the other car did was then follow them until they parked up, blocked them in and smashed the car with crook locks, and attacked my bro and his mate. fracturing his cheek and breaking his nose quite severe.

Police came very quick and arrested them. and said that the 3 men were known to police and this is one of the worst kind of assaults. they will be prosecuted.

What kind of sentence are they looking at.?

As i mentioned I'm new on here so please no pee takers.

For some reason I thought you were a bloke acacia -not that it matters a jot -but those were really kind words you gave pink -im sure the pair of you can be a support to each other -hope so xx It would be good if you could get in touch and support each other through trying times -I can assure you the help and support off line I have had has been tremendous. If you want me to act as an intermediary to pass on each others EMail addys then feel free -im on [email protected] and I would be more than happy for you both to trust that your info wouldnt fall into the wrong hands.I have trusted people on here and them me and never have i had any recourse -it does help and it has helped me tremendously -I have made fab friends out of adversity. xxx

aah, no I'm a woman! lol.. Even though I've never suffered physical violence myself, I work with a lot of women who have, and these men.. total spineless B@st@rds. sure will email u my add. x
pinkbunny -acacia has Emailed me her addy to forward on to you.I think you may both benifit from talking with each other -may be able to give each other support.
I have her addy -if you want to forward yours onto me - [email protected] -then hopefully you may be able to help each other indepentanyly.

I have had a few hard knoocks in the last year and the support I have had from people on here has been overwhelming -they will be friends for life -it was sometimes easier to talk with them than familiy or friends.

EMail me when you have this over with -im sure you will be a great source of strength to each other. xxx
I actually work within criminal justice and despite what you have described, there really are no easy answers...eg if the case is heard in the Magistrates court and remains with them for sentencing, there is a limit on what they can impose and it's less than 12 months!!
Even at a Crown court, I've seen people escape with a light sentence.
Sorry - it's appalling but true.
Make sure your brother asks Victim Support about Criminal Injuries compensation too.
Thank you for your words acacia you are right escaping was the hardest thing I ever did but the best thing too. I owe that all to the police who helped me escape and I have realised that they are not part of the justice system they are just the beginning. I dont take for granted silly things anymore like food shopping walking down the street all the things I never could do before. Even if I get a non guilty verdict I am free with my daughter and there is no price value on my freedom. But there is always the chance justice will be done, my case originally went to magistrates but he threw it straight out as one of the charges was an abh on a minor too serious for a small court. If the men are known to the police as my ex was then they will be doing all they can to help. I have 6 policemen on the witness list for my trial to give evidence against him I never thought much of the police before but boy has my attitude changed.
I really wish you so much luck encourage your brother to stand up to these scumbags as its the only chance we ever have of stopping them. If I had never stood up to my ex I would still be taking his fists and I would still not know how much my poor daughter was suffering.
Embrace your freedom and the right to speak out and ensure justice is done, sorry to ramble but I just feel so involved take care am thinking of you and your family goodnight hun x x
