Is anyone else like me fed up with everyone else going on about the environment? Or am I the only one?

Yep. Especially with runway 3 and terminal 6 in the offing at Heathrow.

Yeah, let's not talk about maybe all the problems will just go away
read State of Fear by Michael Crighton - although a book of fiction it has a lot of factual based references and does have interesting points.

(and yes, I am fed up with the over-exaggeration)
With all these decent Summers and mild Winters don't you think the problem lies with other countries. The problem is we are taking strict measures but the people who are affected are doing s?d all about it.
Well funnily enough humans are not the only living thing on this planet, but we act as though we are.

We breed like rabbits, build larger and larger cities, concrete over acres of land, build motorways all over the place, and generate so much rubbish we have to bury it in the ground or chuck it in the sea.

We continue to destroy natural habitats and make many animals extinct.

Now we could carry on like that, but where does it all end ?

For example, there will probably be no wild tigers in the world by the end of this century. Are you proud of that, because I am not.

The earth is the only planet we've got, and humans are gradually ruining it.

The environment (and over population) are two of the biggest issues we face, and we need to do something about it now.

So I am glad it is being pushed up the agenda.
and??? VHG :)

For every action, there is an equal and opposite government program.

I just think nature will take care of itself, as it always has. Admittedly that may lead to the extinction of the human race and therefore a new species will come forth to dominate the planet, but hey.

My bet's on hamsters to replace us, crafty little ******* them.
I'm sick of people talking about house prices. It bores the living sh*t out of me.
I'm afraid that I just switch off now when the words 'global warming' are uttered.
To be honest it doesn't really matter if you switch off or not.

Do you remember the ozone hole?

It's closing up now - that's not because it got better on it's own - that's because the Montreal Protocol banned chlorinated hydrocarbons.

It show that environmental issues can be tackled effectively but really only by governments and laws.

So whether you're interested or not, you'll probably soon find you can't buy incandescent light bulbs, or road tax will go through the roof on thirsty cars because these are big problems and they won't be solved by asking people nicely to turn off their TVs when they go to bed.
shomer:Hope you watched 'Earth-The power of the planet' on BBC2 tonight. If you did you will begin to understand why 'everyone else is going on about the envioroment'
Well I'l be dead in 50 years so couldn't really give a toss...
