Drink Driving?

Read this Wikipedia page. Think you could use these points to argue a drink driving conviction? Not that ive been caught doing this. h

dont the police follow up positive breath tests with blood tests though? What excuse could a drink driver come up with then?

I dont know very much about the legal system but could you argue that you want proof the machine has been calibrated to the right ambiant tempreture as this gives a higher reading. also that if your body tempreture is higher than average that can put it higher. or when your being tested say you have just had a drink and need 20 mins for your mouth alcohol to go as this makes it higher and is not what their testing. also the wiki page says they did a test where people rinced with listorine for 30 secs and came up on the test as lethal amounts of alcohol.

The devices used by the police fall into two types. The one used at the roadside is not claimed to be infallible, but gives a screening test to allow the officer to make a decision on whether to arrest. The device used at the station is properly installed and maintained. The maintenance is carefully recorded. There can be errors in anything (see the worrying errors made by speed cameras) but you would find it difficult to challenge the Intoximeter. The blood/urine test is not normally relevant because the law gives a maximum level for alcohol in the breath. The period of 20 minutes is allowed by the police as a matter of course, but that would only affect the roadside screening test anyway.
