It appears that our culture of accepting arrest for drink-driving as an occupational hazard is not disappearing as quickly as we might hope.

My views on drink driving are very simple - zero tolerance, lifetime ban.

Any thoughts?

Yes, my thought is that draconian punishment with no areas of grey is idiotic and will cause discontent among the population it is supposed to serve. In any case any limit set is arbitrary, as witnessed by differences across nations. And like most of those types of laws a warning is more appropriate for anyone just over the legal limit. I sometimes despair at the type of controlling punitive society some hope for, push for, and support. It's a society for the improvement of individual citizens' lives, not a country sized concentration prison camp.
Caught posting controversial threads - get caught - firing squad.

No exceptions.
