There was no point.
It sends totally the wrong message.

Just a few weeks as Mr Bigs' *** would have put him in his place.
I thought "suspended" meant that any transgression meant jail, very odd!
I never like the guy but to be honest I don't think he got away that lightly!!
He has been ordered to pay the guy £800 in compensation, so the guy wasn't badly hurt.

Thats not the point that he wasnt badly hurt, that was just luck.
This little oyk was already on a suspended sentence.

"This attack took place while he was serving a six-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months for affray and assault at a petrol station in Guildford, Surrey, in February 2012."
Yes Baz, and he is being punished! just not sent to prison!! and how to you know that not being badly hurt was "just luck" did you witness it? I could punch someone without doing any damage! These fisty cuffs go on every night in pubs and clubs every night of the week, you cant send them all to prison.

With a Track Record like his he really should by doing a bit of Time, He got away with it against all odds imo!

its obviously going straight over your head.....
Bearing in mind all of his previous criminal history. Not going to jail is not giving out the message that suspended sentences will work.

A little bit of jail time with the HMRC recovering what he owes them would work wonders and hopefully concentrate his mind.
It makes me laugh how people like him swan about thinking they are 'Billy Big ***" then when in court they are quivering little wrecks pooping themselves at the thought of going inside.

£800 is nothing to him, he should've been locked up

It was a bit more than £800, but he should still do time imo.

///The singer was also ordered to pay £1,200 prosecution costs, an £800 fine, £800 in compensation to his nightclub victim and a statutory surcharge of £80.
He was fined £800 in June this year for lashing out and slapping a man at a nightclub in Chelmsford, Essex///
He may suffer from small man syndrome. Other family (ahem) members have had much publicised issues in the not too distant past.
no they cant imprison ALL transgressors who are on suspended sentences as they have already overfilled the prisons.

A nighbour with a suspended sentence has a no-contact order for his exwife and she comes over to HIM in the street and addresses him - how are you love etc and if he answers, goes down to the local nick and alleges contempt of court.

so he has clocked up another conviction and another suspendy

COMPLETE waste of everyones time in my opinion

Oh the order was ex-parte and he has been told that it will be £4k up front to get it varied.

Yes thats it Baz, insult me just because I hold a different opinion to you!
Like everybody else on here, I wasn't in the Court and am not aware of 100% of the information that the Judge was presented with. But what is the point of giving someone a suspended sentence, for a previous crime of violence ?

I thought that the whole purpose of a suspended sentence was that it was easy to recall someone if they re-offended during the suspension period.

So it seems counterintuitive that this current Judge didn't make him leave the Court "through the back door"

Perhaps our resident AB law expert, NJ can shed some light on this for us.

"Its obviously going straight over your head"
Come on New Judge...wake up please !
Well if you choose to be outraged rather than thinking ...

The second incident happened in October 2013, the incident he was on the suspended sentence for happened in February 2012 - 18 months earlier. so, depending on when the original sentence was passed, the second incident could have happened within days or weeks of the end of the suspension.

There was also a report from a psychotherapist (yes I can hear you laughing) which was taken into account, and apart from the fine, costs and the rest, has a 12 month supervision order and a 4 month nighttime curfew.

Not quite a joke in my opinion.
Reminds me of the joke: What do you call a dog with 2 ***?

N-Dubz.
The asterisked word rhymes with 'kicks'.
