Can money be asked for to use a right of way that has been in existance over 80 years and in use daily by the present owner for the last 25 years ?

of course this assumes the person does indeed have "right of way" granted to them
Whether you can be charged or not depends on the terms. If the right is granted by an easement it can include a commitment to make payments - e.g. for upkeep of the way.

However, if this right has been exercised without payment for many years it is highly unlikely that such a commitment exists.

Thankyou themas, no-one has been charged to use this right of way in the last 26 years and there are 2 properties involved.
