Scuffling Dogs.

can anyone help me, a while ago my dog was on our driveway when some woman with a jack russell walked past with one of those stretchy leads and it came on our drive, the dogs had a little scuffle and she threw abuse at my partner, he was polite and said if you need help let us know, but to be honest it was nothing.
She has today been banging on my door shouting the odds at me in front of my kids saying she wants �65.00 in vet bills, or she'll take us to small claims court. i told her to get away from my house and she's giving it "watch your back" She already had the Rspca round and they said our dog is fine etc. she reckons she'll get us evicted from our house and even making personal comments to me. i dont even know the woman

Her dog came on to your property without your permission and whilst it was supposed to be under her control, which being on a telescopic lead was obviously not the case.

Therefore any sensible person and, inline with this, most courts would realise that your dog was defending what it regards as its territory. Also that the blame lies with her for allowing her dog to stray.

If she continues to be abusive report her to the police. However, be careful of what you accuse her of. I doubt if you could prove it was her that sent the RSPCA round, although it most probably was.

Don't retaliate, and ignore the small claims court business as the amount is too low to come undeer them.

I would tell her to go to the police and let them laugh at her I mean handle it. Tell them she has made verbal threats if they are any good they'll have a quiet word and tell her to stop being an ar5e.

Small claims court is piffle, did she report the attack to the police at the time? No

just ignore her. Like everyone has said, let her do what she wants (go to small claims, police, RSPCA, whatever) you are NOT in the wrong, she is.

And yes, some people do have void between their ears. Its shocking how stupid some people are.

It is entirely the fault of the Jack Russell owner. She was not in control of her dog and using such a lead, should have been able to have forseen that her dog may encroach on to someone elses's property - who themselves may have a dog. If either party has grounds to sue, it's you.

In addition, Jack Russell's are really nice dogs - my friend has one. But they are aggressive. One more reason why it is complete stupidity to use a telescopic lead on a dog that is commonly aggressive.

i know a jack russel who eats fags (DOG ends)! apart from that hes a really nice dog!
