I have recently started a job, have been there for 4 weeks, should get paid every 2 weeks, and as of yet havent received a penny. I have contacted my manager by phone and e mail, and he said the pay would be in the bank by wednesday, well needless to say it was not. He isnt answering any of my calls or e mails, I was wondering what the next step would be and where i stand legally about demanding payment and whether they can keep fobbing me off with it will be in the bank. Any help and advice would be appreciated.

You could try contracting the payrole department or HR department directly and find out if they have any answers for you?
You are legaly entitled to pay. I would be very wary about this and would say you're not going to do any more work until the funds are confirmed as being on their way (whenever someone makes a bacs payment, a report is created which they can print off and show you).
