I had a single storey extension built. The building control would not pass the work until they were installed. The builders so say came back and installed them, the inspector passed the work. This winter the interior bubbled as tho water was coming in, the inspector came out and ask me to check with the builder who built extension. He said they would need renewing and put the phone down. Where do I go from here ??

You've been let down rather badly by all concerned in this, Mayday.

I've just come in from the pub, so I'll get back to you in the morning if I can be of any use.
With Building Control, Mayday, it's very difficult for the Inspector to know exactly if they are being installed properly unless he's standing over them the whole time.

The builder is relied on to carry out the work properly. Obviously they didn't in this case. Your beef is with the builder. Those things are not difficult to fit, but a certain amount of care is needed.

We all make mistakes. The definition of a good tradesman is not that he never gets it wrong, but that he's willing and able to put it right. I certainly would. He should do the same.

I certainly hope he co-operates. An unpleasant situation, but I wish you good luck with it.
