What should be included in the covering letter of an application for a teaching post? The application needs a supporting statement in which I've outlined how I fulfill the person specification and how I think I could help support the schools ethos and I don't want to repeat myself in the letter. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks Count! Was worried about it looking a bit short!
brevity seems to be a lost art.

Yep lol; I think it makes it worse because everything has to be word processed; even 2 lines in handwriting looks like it's had more care and time taken over it than 2 typed lines!
It's always a good idea to mention how you relate to the children. You'd be surprised how many applicants forget about them.
