Just arrived now. I think it's rather cheeky. I won't bother typing the whole lot but...

Building work in Voluntary Aided Catholic Schools is paid for jointly by the Government and the parents of pupils at school (news to me!) 10% of the full cost must be funded via parents or fundraising. The Diocese has asked the school governors to raise the 10% so that the burden no longer falls onto the parishes.

The estimated cost is 700k and must find 70k to meet our contribution. Please help by giving an amount monthly, quarterly or annually over a three year plan....

THEY CAN FCUK RIGHT OFF....

I thought their primary school was bad for the amount of begging letters we had.

I think the Vatican should pay...
that IS cheeky!
lol. Salla, now you remind me of Catherine Tate!
Bl00dy cheek! So is that the limit of their 'fundraising' ?
do you already pay school fees
Question Author
No....It's a state school.
Tight arrse ;-)
Actually, I agree completely. Surely thats what tax pays for.

I also got a letter from my daughters school yesterday, concerning my eldest.
She has been recognised in the top 5% of pupils within the school for academics. As a result she has been given Gifted and Talented status, and will recieve all the little perks that go with it (extra school trips, more interesting homework etc)

Proper proud Daddy moment :D

At the same time I received a letter saying my childs name has been suggested as someone who would benefit from after school study group...

That translates to...your sons homework is crap. We want him to stay after school and complete it properly.

An hour after school everyday....he's going to be happy when he gets home because he's going whether he likes it or not.
What are they having built at a cost of £700k?!
Question Author
* Phase 2 of boys and girls changing room refurbishment
* Replacement windows for areas apart from the new buildings
* Minor works on existing classrooms to make better use of space within the school building

^^ Doesn't sound much does it..?
why should the Vatican pay for a state school
Question Author
Because we are supplying the next generation of Catholics.

I was joking btw...
It's not a state school in the sense that it is owned by the LEA. It will be owned by the RC Diocese.

And the church make they decisions...
What will the Vatican pay with when they've used up the money to pay for priest molestation of young boys lawsuits?
Question Author
I think they'll still have a few quid left....

My faith school (C of E) had to close down when I was 8 due to lack of funding.
