Hi, I have a few questions in relation to applying for medical studies overseas.  I'm an Australian Citizen with a Bachelor of Nursing degree, wishing to possibly study in the UK, Canada or ?.

1 I would appreciate some advise on which universities would be worthwhile in pursuing with regards to later specialising in genetics, accident and emergency training, and reconstructive cosmetic surgery.

2 Which particular universities have good reputations for producing exceptional doctors with qualifications that are recognised world wide?

3 What length of time is required to complete the doctorate?

4 What qualifications and requirements are necessary to begin medical studies?  A levels, GCSE's and standards from other countries are confusing to me.

I hope someone can come up with something better, but in the meantime, here in the UK the following bodies might have information for you:

The British Medical Association The professional association for doctors

Royal
College of Nursing: represents nurses and nursing, promotes excellence in practice and shapes health policies.
