my friend has his comp on an extension socket he's only pulling 6 mb out of 10mb download (showing in the router config:)
orange support say if he was into the master socket he would pull 10mb
the guy also suggested plugging the router into the master socket and go wireless then he would also get 10 mb that way bypassing the long extension cable
is he right? what usb wifi dongle does he need to get
the router is Siemens gigaset 572 lan

connecting to the master socket usually improves wireless speeds however allow 10% or so less than the router sync speeds for overheads so you should probably expect 8.5-9 meg

According to info on the net this is a wired router only you will need a wireless router to connect wirelessly Any brand of dongle should connect so long as it is compatible most run 802.11g and newer ones wireless N all are backward compatible
