is there a good online email course for doing tax returns and bookkeeping etc, self employed stuff etc?

Not sure about online but, if you're self-employed, HMRC will have sent you the guidelines pack with CD-ROM etc...

How does putting a CD-ROM in your PC and following the instructions differ in practical terms from doing the same on a website...?
