Im thinking about going into teaching when i am older. What are (roughly) the salaries available these days for teaching maths, chemistry or physics at each level of education, eg gcse, a-level, degree level...

It depends where you live.

Scottish State school salaries are on a common scale. I've no idea about the English salary structure.

Scottish starting salary is currently 18000 rising to 28707 in 6 years. After that you can study to become a 'Chartered Teacher' to a maximum of 35199.

Further and Higher Education scales are different.

Pathetic salaries for such an important profession, I think you'll agree.

If you're in it for the money then I suspect that teaching might not be the career for you :-)
