Hi, i run a team, and we charge each person 2 a week, in order we can save up to buy more equipment. i bought the original equipment we are using at the mo, but when we buy more it will belong to the "team"
we only have a small committe (no treasurer as such because we are really new) There are team rules but no constitution or anything grand, as we just plan t have fun.
Anyway, we have now about 180 pounds and instead of keeping it at home i'd like to put it in the bank, but i'd ideally like an account with a book so i could immediately show or see what has gone in.
What's the best way forward? Are there any deposit accounts which still do a book?
Also, can anyone see any legal implications behind either just putting in in my account i have already (an empty one) or in fact behind me purchasing new equipment (costs about 500 quid) using what we have already, and then keeping the money we make over the next few months to defray the extra 320 ive had to pay out?

Hi bednobs, hope you are well, all building societies will do a savings account with passbook, but don't leave yourself open to suspicion about where the money has gone, make sure you have a joint account with at least one other person and all withdrawalls require at least two signatures

thanks ray, i'm a bit up and down at the moment, but still smiling thanks - hope you and your family are well?
good plan about having 2 signatories - would recommend having someone seperate or will my husband do?
Thats good bednobs, try to keep smiling.

when I was running youth football teams, I always had somebody completely seperated from my family to sign, then there is no confusion, people will sadly question your motives for wanting to help youngsters, (ignore them, they are very sad) also you will notice it will always be the same helpers every week, wish you good luck with venture and your life, take care.

actually, we dont have any youngsters at all, save for those who bring their kids along to watch.
Sorry bednobs, misunderstood, must be my age, I would still have sombody apart from hubby signing though, people like to talk, so the less they have to talk about the better. , hope all goes well and it really takes off for you.
